I have a CVP-405 and I'm not too happy with the fact that when I offload either a .wav file or a .mid file to my USB drive, the creation date is always 01/01/2007. When I copy these files to my PC for backup, the dates are the same as the previous version I copied. In order to put a current date on them, I have to load them into another music app I have and do a "save as". This is tedious and this app only works for .wav files. I have not found a way to change the date on a .mid file.

I've talked to Yamaha support and I've been told there is no way to change the Clavinova's date that gets assigned to these files when they are written to the USB drive. I tried using the DOS copy command to affect this change, but that didn't work. Does anyone know an easy way to change the create date on these files?

Hi!

I agree, it is a nuisance. The CVP doesn't provide a system clock, which is weird since it does have an internal clock, otherwise it wouldn't be able to play MIDI events and do tempo things etc. I think what is missing is to have it battery operated so it can keep track of time when the CVP is off. An incredibly simple and cheap thing, which they've elected to omit eventhough they charge a high price for these instruments.

On the 3xx series the date is hard coded to Jan 1st 2006. Unfortunately I can see no other way than the "Save as" method. You need a MIDI program to do it for MIDI files - there are several that are free on the net.
