Hello CVP users and musicians.

I live in Freehold, New Jersey. Recently semi "retired". Adjunct teaching at a college in NYC this fall. I have been a musician for a long time. Love to play and play out as well whenever I get the chance. I just turned 61 . I know an old guy.

I've played music since I started taking lessons on the accordion when age 7. Learned trumpet in High School and finally found my niche in the piano. I think 3 years now almost is when I purchased the CVP 309 grand piano. Fantastic instrument! Now finally i can get to play as part of an orchestra once again. I really miss that. I have also composed songs when I was younger. maybe I'll try my hand at that again if I get inspired.

I would love to learn more about the CVP and it's recording and mixing features. Now that I have more playing time, that is one of my goals. I'm looking forward to this forum and hope to learn from others out there. Anyone in Freehold want to jam with me? Looking to get together with other musicians locally.

Jazz is what my passion is, although I was classically trained. I have learned that I can play chords with my left hand and it sounds pretty decent. but In really need to improve my technique. Don't like to read bass cleff as the accordion was just buttons to push not keys. Glad I'm a part of this group. Thanks.;) John

Welcome to the site.

Have you checked out this website...Jamey Aebersold Jazz at www.jazzbooks.com

They used to give away a free jazz handbook with no obligation. Lots of good stuff for improving technique and both hands improvisation. They also have tons of jazz instructional material for all levels of playing.
