Hello , I am Guillermo , living in holland .
I am “double brandnew”: a brandnew member of this forum and I am the new owner of a brandnew CVP 505.
In the past I was playing with the combination of a yamaha stage piano P 90 , in connecting with the yamaha TYROS 3 and ……using the sequence program Cubase studio 5 for midi recording .
With the CVP 505 I have now “2 in 1 “: a digital piano and a keyboard [ tyros 3] in the desk !
But….I am unable to use my “mid-configuration” of the past and therefore I ask for help in this forum ,
What are my problems ?
The head problem is , the till yet NOT working midi- communication between the CVP 505 and Cubase .
I like to play some chords on the CVP 505 and directly record them in Cubase .
My question is : which configurations I have to do in the CVP and which in Cubase ?
About Cubase , I have more experience from the past , but I do not know the answer on questions as “which midi device manager “I have to install in Cubase ?
There is no CVP 505 device yet , so I use the Tyros 3 ?
Which of you have experience in such a way of working with a CVP [ does not matter which type I suppose] and a midi sequencer program like Cubase/ Sonar home studio / etc ?
I hope to receive some suggestions .
Guillermo

Hi, Welcom op het Forum ;-)

The tyros3 midi-device driver will most probable not work.

You need the correct usb-midi-driver to be installed on your computer.

Then you tell cubase what midi device to use for midi in and out, the driver will show up in cubase after installation.

Your other option is to get a midi interface like a midisport or something intall the driver and connect the cvp with good oldfasion midi cables

My cvp208 come with a cd, software + drivers
Was there no cd included with the cvp 505 ??

The all the CVP-500 series come with the same package as shown in the photo attached to this message (below). The CD-ROM package "Accessory CD-ROM for Windows" should have the drivers. If you didn't receive it, call your store.

Or...perhaps you were too excited to start playing your CVP-505 that you didn't have time to open the manuals. Mine are still unopened...
