Hi all

Even though I updated the firmware to 1.10 (without losing any data, thx Yamaha), I still have the problem that ~40% of all power ons lead to an unrecognized USB stick (4GB Kingston) - which is a bit annoying. I already bought a mini 1 port USB-Hub (just to mechanically extend the port so I can still close it) because if you have to unplug the sticks so often you might get an electrical/mechanical port connection problem soon - which would be bad.
I also talked to my dealer and he confirmed that he knows that small issue as well - but also not having a solution :(

Furthermore, I can't record in WAV to that stick - but to an old 128MB stick it works fine.

Anybody here who has the same minor problems?

Anyway, it is still a beautiful and amazing instrument - although I must admit that it is my very first instrument and therefore I'm an absolute newbie, just trying to do something totally different in my life then ever before. I did not regret the buying.

Hi, did you try to format the USB with the CVP-503? Format the USB with the 503 snd it will erase all data which includes any usb security that may come with it. The manual talks about it.

Good Luck

Hi John

Yes, I saved all files to my laptop and reformat the 4GB stick on the CVP but it didn't help.

Thx anyway for your suggestion.

John:

I have found on my CVP 309 that if my file name is too long it will not see it. Try not to use the "long file name". I can not remember how long it was, but when I shortened it up, it showed up. It was at least 2 times the display length. Hope this helps...

What I had done was, written a number of songs in Sibelius on my computer and used the full name of the song. Exported to MIDI. One of the songs did not show up. So I did it all over again. Still did not show. Then I changed the name, shorter and there it was. Trick from the old DOS days when files were 8 by 3. Hope this helps......
