I have the clavinova CVP 107 and when i hit "music database" and then "dance" there are several techno/trance beats that are available that i can play along with.

I was wondering if anyone might know if there is a way to get more of those on the cvp via disk?

Aren't you talking about Styles rather than Music Database?

You can certainly get more styles. There are many sites on the web which supply additional styles. Just search the web for Clavinova styles, you'll find many.

We've also had discussions in these forums before, so a search of this site will also be helpful.

If I've misunderstood your question, post back.

thank you for responding to my question

i think we might be thinking about different things. what cvp do you own?

on mine, underneath the style buttons is a button called 'music database'. when you turn the song function off this button works.

after pressing this button you then press the dance button under styles and it brings up a bunch of pre-recorded beats with coresponding sounds.

this is what i'm looking for more of. there are about 13 techno/trancy beats.

does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense.

I've owned a CVP 96, where each style had associated voice settings which they called "One Touch Settings".

In the 100 series that you have, they called it Music Database. But it's still the same idea -- when you call up a style, it will load a set of registrations that sound good with the style.

I now have a 209. To confuse the issue, they've gone back to the term "one touch setting" to describe registrations assciated with styles. The 200s also have a Music Finder (which lots of us call a Music Database), which allows us to store a Song Title, tempo and style. So when someone says "Play 'Misty' for me", you just look it up in the Music Finder, and it automatically sets the style, tempo and assoicated registrations.

So in your case, you have a Music Database which calls up a style with associated registrations. So which do you want more of: styles (ie, the drum rhythms), or registrations (ie, voices like flute, trumpet, guitar), etc., or both (ie, you want a new techno beat that also has assoiated registrations)?

If it's a new style (ie, just the drum rhythms), they are readily available on the net.

If you want a style with associated registrations, that's more difficult, because as far as I know, they're unique to the Clavinova series. You should still be able to find them on the net, but you'll have less choice.
