For Wally or Webmaster--Just some basic questions about the web site:
What is the quickest way to get to my "Private Messages" area?
I can read the private messages sent to me, but I can't read the ones that I have sent to others. I see their titles, but I can't read them. How do I do this?
Also--how do I delete the private message titles that I send to others that are shown in the Private Message area?
What is the difference between a Private Message and a Private E-Mail? Is it true you can choose to not receive Private E-Mails?
What to the choices, "Selected Messages--Cancel, Restore and End Tracking" mean?
I know these are all basic!

I don't know everything, but here goes...
>What is the quickest way to get to my "Private Messages" area?
There are two quick ways to get to your Private Messages Inbox. The first way is to click on the [Go...Read] link in the Private Messages box on the home page just below the Main Menu box. The second way is to click on the USER CP link at the top of the home page. Then click on New Private Messages. This will take you to your Private Messages Inbox.
>I can read the private messages sent to me, but I can't read the ones that I have sent to others. I see their titles, but I can't read them. How do I do this?
Once you're at your Private Messages Inbox, click on the drop down box on the right just above the Date/Time Sent column and select Sent Items. That will take you to the messages you've sent. You can click on them and open them.
>Also--how do I delete the private message titles that I send to others that are shown in the Private Message area?
Whether you're in the Inbox or the Sent Items folder, you delete messages the same way. Click to add a check mark in the little box to the right of the Date/Time information for the message you want to delete. Add a check mark to all messages you wish to delete. Then press the Delete button at the bottom of the message list.
>What is the difference between a Private Message and a Private E-Mail? Is it true you can choose to not receive Private E-Mails?
A private message is posted to a forum on the CVPUG web site that only you can get to. A private email is sent to your email client. You can manage your own email options by clicking on the USER CP link, and then on the Edit Options link. Go down the list of options to the "Messaging and Notification" options and set them as you wish.
>What to the choices, "Selected Messages--Cancel, Restore and End Tracking" mean?
I don't know where you're seeing these. You'll have to point me to where you're finding them.

Thanks, Wally, for your help. This is the first time that I've ever used a "real" message board. I guess I'm just amazed by everything it will do. Anyway...
To respond to your question--when I go to the home page, then click on "Private Messages" and on [Go...Read], then click on "pm tracking" at the bottom, under "Sent Messages: Unread by Recipient" it gives me the options of "Cancel," "Restore" or "End Tracking." I just wanted to know what these commands would do with my unread messages.
The reason I was asking about how to access my private messages was that I was not starting at the home page, and the Private Messages box (on the left) wasn't being displayed. I was starting at the Forums page, and had this web link in my favorites instead of the true home page.

I am especially picky about everything being right before I post a message, but the only thing I can't do on this message board is spell and grammar checking. So I copy the message I am posting and paste it into Microsoft Word to spell check it, then copy it from Word and paste it back into the message board box if I have corrected anything.
I guess spell checking isn't available here, Wally?
