I was in the process of purchasing a CVP204 from the UK and had sorted out the price etc. before going to the shop. When I arrived at the shop and looked at the 204 compared to the 206, I was told the 206 had much better sounds on it that the 204. True, the 206 does appear to have better speakers (some mesh? under the piano), but do the differences really justify the extra £600 difference in models. I'm not sure if I would notice that much difference, and if I go for the 206, then why not go for a 208 or 210. The idea of getting the 204 was that it is pretty cheap (£1450) compared to the other models, so I wouldn't feel that bad if it wasn't used to its full potential. Any advice apprecaited, thanks

If I were deciding between a CVP-204 and a CVP-206...I would buy a CVP-208!

Seriously, whatever the amount of money between either a CVP-204 or a CVP-206 and a CVP-208 would be WELL WORTH THE DIFFERENCE you pay. You will have this instrument long after you have paid the difference between them. I expect to play my CVP-207 at least 30 more years...

Why don't you try to buy a CVP-207 being moved off the sale room floor for the new CVP-208? I'll bet you could get a really good deal on one. Look around.:)

I went though the same thought process prior to purchasing my CVP 208, paying the extra was more than worth it.

The thing that swung it for me is looking at www.musicalinstrumentmegastore.co.uk / www.singingchicken.co.uk and found that at ht eimt e they were selling the cvp208 for less that the best price I could find anywhere for the 207!

The service was good and I would reccomenfd you check them out before going any further.

Hope this might save you some cash, adn get you abetter unit.

Hi

I know it always comes down to money, but I once bought a CVP 107 and wished I had bought the 109.

The point is no matter which one you buy, you will always want the next model up. So this time I bought a CVP 209.

Now I am waiting for the CVPs to have a HDD in them before I upgrade again. Hence, I still have the 209 and not the 210.

thanks for the replies. This whole question is really about justifying the purchase to myself. I could go and buy the 210 and know I have the best one, but I couldn't live with myself if it wasn't used to its full potential, thinking that I could have got away with buying a lesser model and saving money.

I used to have a 207, but sold this after a while due to lack of use.

So that is why I am thinking about the 204, as it has all the things I would like (except the ebony finish!!!)...it just gets more difficult when its only a few hundred quid to the next model...and then where do you stop..

I suppose I've answered my own question now.....

despite the slight difference in sound quality between the 204 and 206, I think I'll go for the 204....I can always upgrade later ;)
