With our CVP208 less than 10 days old, still working out the tweeks...

Prior to our upgrade, we had a 1997 CLP411(with a simple set of a few buttons and settings). One setting my wife always prefered was for the 'reverb' setting to be assigned to 'stage' (other settings were room, hall1, hall2).

Any advice as to how I can mimic that on a 208? I know there is a reverb button you can toggle on or off, but I have not learned how to adjust what an 'on' setting does. To be honest, the manual lost me and even if I did understand it - I do not know what settings would create the 'stage reverb effect'.

Anyone who has owned an older or lower series model is likely familiar the the reverb setting having 4 choices.

Can anyone offer any advice to point me in the right direction?

Rich

On the CVP 209 there is a mixing console button, if you have one on the 208 press it and then select the EFFECTS page. There you will see all the reverb type choices.

Hope this helps.

It took a little trial and error to find exactly what we wanted and how to get to it, but yes - the mixing console button was the key link to what we wanted.

So now not only did we find Hall1, Hall2, and stage reverb choices (as in our older 411 model), but also about a dozen more.

Of course, these settings only last until the piano is turned off - but with familiarity it only takes a few seconds to restore each playing session.

Our enjoyment of our 208 is increasing with each suggestion offered on this site.

I owe you for this one!

You should be able to save 8 sound (and rhythm) combinations to a registration bank, with the reverb setting you want for each, then save that registration bank to your internal User drive under a file name that you choose. Just be sure that the reverb that you want for each sound is set before you save that combination to one of the 8 buttons. Then when you turn on your Clavinova again bring up that registration bank and select one of the 8 registration combinations. The reverb setting you originally chose should be associated with each sound combination.

Please let me know if this works OK for you.
