Hello,
Just bought a new Yamaha p-120. The sound quality via my $150 headphones is superb. I want to know first of all though what is the CVP equivalent for this piano, if just considering the classic piano sound?
And does this group cater toward non-CVP pianos like mine (P-120)? If so, where are all the P-series users?
Thanks,
Michael C.

The P-120 is one FABULOUS piano. No other manufacturer even comes close to the feel and sound of this wonderful instrument. More to follow...

Hi
The P120 shares the same piano sample as the CLP-120, and YDP-223...

Right. There's no CVP equiv. since the CVP is an ensemble and the P-120 is not. Your P-120 is a great piano.
We don't have a forum for stage pianos, but we could add one if there's a need. I just don't know what kind of support a P-120 user would need. Got any suggestions?

There is a good tutorial videotape on the P-120 at the MIDItainment web site. It covers the more advanced features of the instrument, and is very well done. There are a lot of features controlled by the function button that are demonstrated in detail. This video covers several other stage pianos as well.
This is the video at the very bottom of the MIDItainment web page on the left.

Right. Personally I was looking more at the equivalent "piano sound" and to a lesser extent the action. And this of course via headphones plugged in, or via very good set of stereo monitoring speakers, to keep things equal.
thx!

The P-120 was voted "Digital Pro Piano of the Year" at the Winter NAMM 2003. Here are the links:

If this link does not work, search for "Digital Pro Piano of the Year" in quotes.
