How to change instruments in midi files?

I just downloaded some midi files and saved them on a floppy disk. Then I was able to play them on my CVP207. Very cool. Some of them even have the lighted keys.

Is there any way to go in and change the instruments assigned to the different channels that are playing?

Also, is there any way to mute certain channels / instruments?

Is there any way to go in and change the instruments assigned to the different channels that are playing?

Go to the Mixing Console and keep pressing it until you come to the page which shows you the tracks 1 - 8.
Now press the ;UP: button under the track you want to change. This will take you to the voice page where you can select any voice you like.


Also, is there any way to mute certain channels / instruments?

Press the Channel On/Off button at the buttom left off the screen.
From here you can turn off any or all of the channels.

The best advice I can give, is to sit down and press all of the buttons at least once to see what they do.
