I've been in a bit of a musical slump lately - I've been busy, somewhat uninspired, and struggling with three broken keys that will finally be replaced next week. A friend's favorite uncle passed away the other day, so I wrote this song in his honor yesterday. So far, it's just piano (Live Piano) and drums (Live StyStd Kit) - it may wind up with some bass, guitar and vocals. Felt good to write something, despite the sad circumstances.

Here's an updated version. My friend Rob Quail added a guitar track last night (it was his uncle the song was written for). I thought he did a beautiful job with it.

I uploaded the midi file of the piano and drums. In typical fashion, the time signature isn't set correctly. I have enough problems just getting the notes right :D

Played your One Last Ride today on CVP. I like the tune. Might try to learn it. Used CVP208 Score feature to play and read along.

I would love Yamaha to add a auto chord reader into the score program to interpet and display the chords in each bar even for a song that didn't use ABC. It would be neat for us lead sheet players.

Thanks much, John, and for your comment on the other tune as well. That would be a great feature, indeed. I don't read music, and whenever somebody asks me what oddball chord I played in a certain spot, I have to go look it up - LOL!
