The midi files from the preliminary
rounds of the '04 Piano-E-Competition are available at that web site:
http://www.piano-e-competition.com/
There are some 8 MB(!) worth of midi files available there. You can find them under the pages of each of the competitors.
Sure wish I could play like this...

These competitors are the cream of the crop. I am very impressed how well this e-Competition is bringing out all the best pianists in the world.
This year, I noticed that the website is offering XP standard, enhanced and E-Seq midi formats. The explanation of these formats is also given on the website.
It is too bad that the Guide Lights cannot automatically determine the left and right hand notes since these files are recorded with both hands simultaneously.

Hey - I just noticed the website says XP midi format - did they not mean XG? Which format do you think would play best on the CVP's since these were recorded on Disklavier Pros?

I think the XP format is unique to the Disklavier and will not play on a CVP. (Didn't try it though.) I used the "Enhanced MIDI"

Well, I used the Eseq files on my CVP, so there!!!
No seriously the XP midis would be wasted on the cvp as the Diskclavier has a much higher resolusion the the cvp.
I only used the Eseq files because they have been titled up correctly and work fine in the Yamplayer.
However the midi files titles have been put in using Metaevents for some strange reason and do not conform to the midi standard for titles. Therefore thier titles do not show up in the player.
