cakewalk help!!!

cakewalk music creator to cvp79a clav. working on 8 track midi file, made changes, deleted unused tracks, renamed tracks to piano, bass etc, set chorus and reverb. Shut down, returned, called up saved file, all unused tracks reappeared (!!), all names of tracks replaced by track 1, track 2 etc (!!), all chorus and reverb reset to zero (!!). What's going on? What am I doing wrong?
