All:
I am considering buying a PF1000 for my family. There are a few points that I hope some people on this board can kindly help me out with prior to buying one.
I am getting conflicting answers about being able to use an external sequencer such as Cakewalk with the PF1000. The differece of opinion hinges on the number of MIDI channels that you can use to record with. The multitimbral keyboards I am familiar with allow you to use 16 channels simultaneously. Some salespeople have told me that you can use all 16, and others have told me that you can use only 2. That 's a big difference.
I sent Yamaha an email directly at yamahasynth.com asking this question but they never replied to me.
A second question I'd like some input on from someone is which external self-powered speakers you would buy if you did not love the onboard speakers on the PF1000. Or perhaps some of you have some experience with hooking up a Yamaha subwoofer to your keyboard to give it more depth.
Kindly comment.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Bob.
