CVP Colleagues,

My wife and I are pretty "new" with all the many features of our CVP 900 (we love it). She purchased two MIDI's from MusicSoft. The compositions come with a "set" voice, i.e., Mack the Knife is pre-set to "Dixieland Swing" -- trombone. This is probably pretty stupid on our part, but we don't know how to change trombone to piano (or something other than trombone).

I know this should be simple, but we can't easily find the answer or method in the references we're using. Any answer in SIMPLE, not too technical terms would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Herb

I own a Tyros and if they operate in a similar manner, you can change any of the track voices in the Mixer. Keep pushing the Mixer button repeatedly to cycle through all the available 16 tracks and make changes. If you want to save a copy of the midi with your changes intact, you must use Digital Recording, Song Creator.

A very good website with lessons about the Yamaha operating system is www.psrtutorial.com Even though the site is dedicated to PSR2000, the operating system is VERY similar on the CVP. I highly recommend everyone look at the tutorials there.

Here's what they say about your question:
