Greetings.

I would like to know if someone will confirm if I have a problem with my CVP209 or is it me or is there a bug in the software. I am trying to change the volume of the various parts within the style mixer. I am making my changes to styles that are in the user memory, but after I go to another style and come back to the style that was edited and saved the changes that were made to some of the volume controls had reverted to their original settings. Please let me know what you find.

Thanks,
Jim

Yes, this is Yamaha's dumb idea.
:(
On the CVPs, like the PSRs, you can not save any changes to the built-in styles. Those styles are permanently locked into the Yamaha.

Here's what you can do, however. Make all the changes to the volumes and even the instruments that you want. Then push the button for the Digital Recording - Style Creator, then go to page 2 Assembly and press the Save button. Use the Next buttons to page over to Floppy Disk and save your modified style to disk.

That's all there is to it! Simple, huh? :)

Well, once you get used to it, it isn't too hard. And it is the only way to save your changes permamently.

Thanks Tom,

Your solution worked just as you said and it really isn't that bad, just another step in the process.

Thanks again,
Jim

You're welcome. Jim!

I highly recommend that all Yamaha CVP owners (newer models, anyway) that would like to learn a lot more about their instrument go to these pages:

www.psrtutorial.com

Joe Water's has done a fantastic job of putting these together. Almost all of the info on these pages also applies to your CVP, even though the site is geared to Yamaha PSR. Both use the same operating systems.
