A guitarist friend of mine recently asked me to help him out with a cover of Larry Carlton's "For Love Alone". Here's what we have so far:

The original had some cheesy synth and reverb-soaked drums - we'll probably leave it more sparse like this. I layered Cool Electric Piano and Polaris EP for the piano track, and wound up cobbling together the bell/chime sounds from samples I found on the 'net - couldn't find anything suitable on the CVP.

Here's the final version - we decided to go ahead and add drums (simple track using Live Brush kit, and a snare from one of the other Live kits) and a light synth (Tiny Lead). It was a tough tune to pull together - I made the piano track by playing along with the original recording, whose timing was unsteady. This made it difficult to lay down the other tracks, but it came out pretty well, I thought. But from now on, I'm using a metronome :D
