One of the white key in the middle of the keyboard takes significantly longer to return after it is depressed. Does anyone know how to fix it? Does anyone have a web-link that shows how the internal drawing of the GH key. I want to see how the GH key works.
Thanks.

There is a lengthy thread about this problem in the Hardware forum.

Be aware that if your 209 warranty is past the one year mark and depending on the benelevance of your dealer you may have to pay for the labor charges which could be costly.
A few of us have experienced this and can be of help if you need more info... Just ask.

Thanks Phil for your promt reply.
Could you please tell me where to buy the spare key and the service manual? Would it be possible for you to summarize in a step-by-step procedure to remove the panel and the keyboard. I am afraid to damage the piano in the process.

Call Yamaha @ 1-800-854-1569 and follow the prompts to Clavinova service. Have them start a case for you - you could have a defective keybed, it may be best to have a servicer look into it... (this is a US # only)

It's best to talk to your dealer first on the chance they will offer to have it fixed. My 207 was past the 1 year warranty mark and the dealer simply offered to put me in touch with a repair person. Labor charges would be on me. Calling Yamaha is also worth a try although it's not likely they will replace the keyboard for one occurrence. If they do, let us all know.
If or when all that fails....
I would not attempt a do it yourself job without the manual. To obtain a service manual and parts call 1-800-776-9262. The key itself is less than $15. You can salvage enough grease from the old key so I wouldn't bother with that. You may want to study the manual first to see if feel comfortable with the repair.
The top is removed by taking out 2 Phillips head screws. They can be seen by raising the keycover about half way and using a flashlight. They are just under the top on either side . They go in on a diagonal. It's best to use a magnetized screw driver to remove them. The top can then slide back and be lifted. I pretty much described the remainder of the procedure in one of my messages in the thread I mentioned above.
