Can someone help me...I have a CVP105 and a notebook with a CDRW drive......is there a way I can make a decent WAV file from my CVP and write it to a CD?

You'll likely need to go to Radio Shack and get a cable with RCA jacks on one end, and a 1/8" stereo plug on the other. You can then hook up the Audio-out jacks on the CVP to the Line-in on your laptop. These only cost a few bucks.

For recording, here's about the absolute cheapest route you can take - free (assuming you don't need multi-track recording). You can use Windows Sound Recorder (it's already on your computer, unless you have a Mac, in which case you can ignore this altogether). Sound Recorder, by default, will only record about a minute of audio. To get around that, record a blank one-minute file and save it. Then insert that file into itself (using the "Insert File" command on the "Edit" menu) several times, until the file is big enough to hold the song you want to record, then save it again (I made one about 9 minutes long, named it "bigwav.wav", and keep it handy). Then you can just record over it, deleting the unused portion from the end (there's on option on the Edit menu to do this), and "Save As" another name. Make sure that you adjust the audio properties to 44.1KHZ stereo before you start recording.

Once you have your wav file, you should be able to create an audio CD with whatever software came with your CD-RW.

Before burning your CD, I would suggest taking your laptop with the wav file, hook it up to a stereo, and play the wav file back through the stereo. You may want to adjust the EQ settings on the piano and re-record the wav until you're happy with the sound. I use a relatively flat EQ setting. Also, make sure to adjust your recording settings on the computer low enough for the recording to not be "hot".
