Hi there!

can somebody suggest me wich one of the following softwares is the best and more complete to work with the CVP?

Actually I am searching for a sequencing software who allows me to have a real music studio via my PC (windows XP). The choice is vast and not having any experience in the matter I would like to hear from you any comment or advice that will help me to purchase the best among the following list:

1) SONAR 2.0 (succesor of Cakewalk)

2) COOL EDIT PRO

3) CUBASIS VST

4) CUBASE 5.0

5) YAMAHA WORKS 3.0

Then I need a very good notation software...wich one will you suggest me among these?

1) SIBELIUS 2.0

2) FINALE 2003

3) HARMONY ASSISTANT

And, in the end, according to you wich is the best SOUND CARD that I can put in my PC? Is it the Yamaha soun card?

Thank you for your kind cooperation! i am sure these will be precious informations for many of CVP users.

P.S. If you know of some different softwares that can be utilized with the CVP please, let me know. I am interested in composing film soundtrack and classical orchestra bases for piano concertos.

For recording and mixing, I use Cool Edit Pro - I'm quite happy with it. A lot of folks also recommend SoundForge for editing individual tracks. A guy that I collaborate with uses Cakewalk, and he has a lot of problems with it.

I have an M-Audio 2496 sound card that I'm also pleased with. I've read good things about the Yamaha SW1000XG card, but have never seen or heard one. A friend recently recommended this Echo card, also:

I don't use any notation software, but a friend uses Sibelius, and it seems to work quite well.

Do as much research as you can - you should be able to find a lot of reviews, opinions and comparisons. Lots of choices out there - good luck!!

OK, I appologise up front if this message ins in the wrong place.

I'm trying to find collections of music on diskette that I can use with my 207 that has the lyrics and all for pop, country, etc. I remember finding a site months ago that had towers of music (150 diskettes or songs or something like that) but I can't seem to find them again.

Any suggestions?
