Help!!!

I am currently in the middle of restoring my old Clavinova model PF P-100 digital piano. After removing all the keys and weights to clean everything, I've got some problems when I put it all back together. Does anyone have or know where I can get my hands on a service/repair manual for this model? If not, maybe you can help with the following questions:
1. Is there a certain order that the keys and weights need to be in?
2. Has anyone ever done this type of repair and then found that certain keys will trigger multiple notes?
3. Will cleaning the contact strip and all the keys bring this keyboard back to its former glory?

Thanks for any and all help you might be able to offer!

I have a couple of thoughts based on my CVP's keyboard, which I think is the same one you have.

The keys have to be positioned correctly to push on the contact strip at the appropriate spot. That probably requires having the right keys in the right order.

Also, cleaning is probably a good thing, but make sure you apply the proper lubricant to the right spots. I think you can buy the lubricant from Yamaha's customer support. They can also sell you a service manual.

Thanks, Wally. I suspected as much about the order of the weights/contacts in relation to the strip. I figure that the number markings on the weights correspond to the octaves on the keyboard, but that's as far as I've gotten. I need to know the exact order and how to determine the order from the number markings.
I've looked on the Yamaha website, but they do not offer service or repair manuals on obsolete keyboards. If anyone else has any input, I'd be very happy to hear it. Thanks again!

Try calling the Customer Service number, 1-800-776-9262.
Maybe they can help.

Thanks for the input, Phil.

I called Yamaha and got the part number for the service manual, but they no longer have it. They steered me toward NTS, a aftermarket supplier that buys their obsolete parts. NTS didn't have the manual either.
I now have an email in to Yamaha Tech Support, and perhaps they can give me the information I need to continue my restoration project.
Thanks to your Users Group, I now feel that at least I have "kindred spirits" out there. I actually own two Yamaha digital pianos, so I have the other to keep me working. I do hope to restore my PF P-100, though, because it's my favorite, and I have been using it since I bought it new in 1993.

Again, I am glad to have joined your Users Group, and I hope to be able to help others with advice on group topics.

Thanks for the tip. I actually now have a running dialog going with one of Yamaha's tech folks. He's been walking me through different possible problems, and has been most helpful. Thanks to all the CVP Users for the support!

my P-100 does everything...all buttons light, etc...but play. There is no sound either from the speakers or from the earphones. Any idea of what this is caused by? Is there a fuse inside that may have blown...and if so, how do I open it. I see hinges on the rear, but which screws do I let go to open it??
If yopu can help that would be great.
