Try
http://www.classicalmidiconnection.com/cmc/romantic.html

or

http://www.classicalarchives.com/main-g.html

Both have the midi files, don't know how good they are

Thanks.. I've had a look. They sound good, but it seems no one wants to waste an extra track on the piano. Maybe I might try splitting it myself.
Does anyone know if yamaha do one that will allow you to play along the piano part properly.

thanks again

Hi .

You can splilt the hands in a simple program like midi notate. Are you interested in printing the sheet music for the piano part or just seeing the notes properly on the Clavinove screen?

Cheers

I'd like to be able to see the notes on the Clavinova's screen and also make use of the guide facilites for practicing seperate hands etc.
Splitting them by had could be a long job, does midi notate allow for inteligent splitting (does anything) or do you just split on a note.

thanks

Hello Steve;

Midi notate can split the hands for you and if you want you can move some of the notes from one staff to another. You can also re-assign the parts to different midi channels if you wish. You can then set up the Clavinova to display the parts you want. If you want, you can tell me what or where to get the midi in question and I can send you an example of how it could be split.

Hi Onno

I've had a quick look at the website and see that I can download a trial version, so I'll do that and have a play later (I'm at work at the moment).

I'd be intersted though in seeing an example of how it could be split, if its no trouble.

thanks

Hello Steve.
I had a chance to download a midi of the piano concerto in question. It looks like most of the midi channels are already being used. The one I looked through only had channel 16 available. In Midi Notate you can split the hands and then reassign one of the new parts to a different midi channel. Then on the Clavinova you can go into the setup screen from the score window to change the left and right midi channel. Change them from auto to the appropriate midi channel. I am not sure how to make that a permanent change on the piano though.

Have fun, I don't think I will be playing that level of piece for quite some time (if ever);)

Hmm.. maybe I could loose one of the channels.
I'm not sure I'll be playing that for a while ether.. but the start might be fun

You could check to see if two seperate parts have the same insturment. Like two violin parts and double those up, on the same midi channel.

Steve

Sorry, I thought I had what you wanted.

I have a Pianosoft-Plus disk of Grieg's Piano Concerto (PSP-1974) and as it is a Yamaha disk, I thoght it might be split into 2 parts but, alas it is not. All of the piano part is on one track.

Sorry to get your hopes up.

Thanks anyway Midi Magic.. I'd have thought they would have split too. Anyway Its now the weekend and I'm going to have a go at splitting it myself, as long as not too many demands are made of my time.
anyway thanks for all the help
