I'm thinking about trading in a CVP 204 for a CVP 305, and I can't decide whether to do it or not. Do you think it's a waste of money?

Whether it is worth it or a waste of money depends on several issues. What does the 305 have that really WANT and will use that your 204 doesn't? How much money will you have to pay in difference if you traded in the 204? What if you sold the 204 outright, on your own, and bought the 305 in cash? FYI, you won't get what you paid for the 204 as these things never go up in value, only down.
However, I do think that the new 300 series are fantastic. One thing that I love about the new 300s is that they have a feature previously found on the Technics Digital Piano Ensembles (which are no longer made) where you can indepently select the Right # 1 and Right # 2 sounds and then independently turn them on/off. In other words, you can select two sounds, turn on # 1 without #2, turn on # 2 without # 1, turn them both on, or turn them both off. I have found this to be a great feature when I'm playing.
That feature alone has made me decide to purchase a 307 instead of a 208. Now, if I already owned a 208 would I sell it to buy a 307? Hmmmm......probably not, but then again.....!
Personally, I say, if you can afford the difference in price and you think it's reasonable, it's not a waste of money at all. Go for it!
