perhaps that is the problem why his computer stops working after a while it simply becomes tired of reading all the data in one long long sentence without any breaks or chances to make sense of it all as you forget what the beginning of the sentence was so after having stuffed all available memory with all the data it gets all googly eyed is that how you spell it im not sure does impossible mean that i am possible or impossible from reading all these zeroes and ones rushing in in a frantic unceasing tirade and just packs it in and goes home :D

Hi!

In fact I had the same problem in the beginning, but with Windows 2000. It went away when I unplugged the CVP side and plugged it back in, pushing really (really) hard.

Ray,

My first thought is that the USB cable is loose or the port connector has something loose internally. When it dies, try pulling the cable and plugging it back in (with the PC still up). You may also need to restart the Pianist and/or PrintMusic program.

USB drivers are designed to load when the device is plugged in and detected by the USB controller/root hub device. If it suddenly unloads, this most likely means that the signal between the CVP and PC has been disrupted.

When the USB device (CVP) is hot mounted, XP reports this with the "Device Connect" sound. If you boot the PC without the plug in and then plug it in, you should hear the sound as the driver loads. If you then pull the plug out again, you should hear the "Device Disconnect" sound. Also, if you look in Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices/Hardware, you should see the "Yamaha 307" device listed whenever it is loaded.

Play around with it and see if you can determine what's causing the driver to unload.

P.S. - thanks for the punctuation and caps ;)
