Sorry if this question has been asked before. I'm looking for a MIDI editor program which can take a MIDI file recorded in free tempo (without the metronome) and convert it to a MIDI file with proper user defined beat markings. Does anyone know if such a program exists (PC, Mac or other). Thanks.

Sorry, I do not have the answer, but here are two more forums that you might ask the question.

www.psrtutorial.com

www.pgmusic.com/ubb/

Some very knowledgeable music software users on these forums in addition to the present forum.

Hope this helps.

Eric,

I downloaded MidiIllustrator (demo) and it doesn't look like you can change the reference tempo. It lets you change the playback tempo, but that doesn't change the score.

...unless I'm missing something.
