Has anyone tried any of the Yamaha CueTime Musicsoft products on the CVP-300 series? Yamaha's site would seem to indicate that it was compatible with the Clavinova series. I have tried one title and none of the notes show up in the Score and the follow the lights seems to be wanting you to play a background track and not the main melody. The instructions mention about how to use this software with the CVP-200 series - unfortunately there is no mention of the CVP-300 series - probably because this came out prior to the CVP-300 series. Perhaps there are some settings on the CVP-300 series to emulate the CVP-200 series which may make this software function. Any feedback on the CueTime Software would be appreciated.

Hi

I doubt they changed anything in that part of the system.

One thing I know is that CueTime songs do NOT necessarily follow the melody. This is different from the Follow-the-Lights songs. In fact, the better CueTime titles don't even come close.

The cue points or "triggers", if you will, are very cleverly chosen so that if you vary your playing speed (not sure what the musical term is for that), the accompaniment does not sound too "choppy". When I play with a CueTime song, I don't even look at the lights. The sheet music that comes with the disk is what I focus on. If you have it, look at the grey circled notes - these are the triggers and are sometimes left hand and sometimes right.

Dan,

Thanks for your reply and help with the explanation on how the CueTime functions. I did not know that the grey highlighted notes were the trigger points. I was comparing this to the Follow The Lights series and thinking that every note was going to be displayed ...
