Hello everyone,
a happy owner of a CVP-301 wants to say hello. The piano arrived yesterday to our home after a long and thorough purchasing process. I am sure we got the best bang for the buck with this choice.

Our family consists of four total newbies in the piano world. Me and my wife have been on guitar lessons about two years and the CVP will offer a great background for guitar practices. About 15 years ago I used to own an Ensoniq SQ80 synth workstation (with a built-in 8-track sequencer) and a Roland S50 rack sampler, but never really learned to play them. Had fun creating some music for myself and my friend's dancing performances, but gradually my interest wore out, mostly because the Ensoniq had no accompaniment features (always had to play in all tracks by myself, which took too much time) and I wasn't interested in learning to play keyboards.

Now, fifteen years later the CVP will offer a new start. The motivation for learning to play piano is much better, this fine instrument will offer the accompaniment features when I need them or I want to try some arrangements in the melodies popping in my head. Furthermore, I have already noticed the quality of sounds has improved tremendously in fifteen years.

And of course, the CVP will offer them a great way to learn to play piano to other members in our family. Me and my wife are interested in taking piano lessons from a teacher, but that will have to wait for some time. Meanwhile we will learn some basics from books and online lessons. Our children will certainly get a proper piano teacher lessons once they've grown a bit older.

I was first going to open my membership here with some questions, but I have found all the answers from older posts, therefore went to wasting bandwidth with this lengthy "Hello World" message. Many thanks to Wally for your work and to all the rest of you sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Best Regards,
Jarmo

p.s. I have ALWAYS been using the Winnie the Pooh avatar in the web forums, but since we already have an elite Pooh member here, I will make an exception. Midi Magic, may your avatar give you a neverending honey supply.

edit: couple typos
