Does anybody know whether it is possible to see the free storage space of the flash memory of the CVP 307?
Today I tried to store one more midisong, but flashmemory was full. I was surprised, because I didn´t expect that. So after having deleted several songs I was looking for a possibility to see the free space on the flash memory but didn´t find one...
In my old QY sequenzer there is this possibility to see how much storage space is left...

Hi Andreas,

The CVP307 Users Manual on page 137 under the heading "Recording your performance" shows as follows:

"Internal memory (User tab displays) capacity"

There is no definite indication whether this refers to total capacity or available (free) memory. As I do not own a 3xx series instrument I cannot check this for you.

So this may or may not help you, but may be worth a try!

Thanks for the Info, but the capacity of 3,3MB is clear for me, what I wanted to know is, whether one can check the left over space, if one has already stored a lot of material...

Hi, Andreas:
The following is just akin to your favorite question relating to the SmartMedia issue... ;)

(Note: “so where is the problem?” was used twice on http://www.cvpug.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=869&perpage=15&pagenumber=2, and once on http://www.cvpug.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=3799#post3799)

To address the storage space issue, your options are:

1. Just delete some files from the internal flash memory to free up some space. “so where is the problem?” :D

2. Hook up a USB drive or a multi-card reader/writer to the USB port to read a multitude of flash media formats, and expand the memory capacity infinitely. “so where is the problem?” :D

3. (Quoting one of your lines...) “... get a smartmedia card with 128mb for 16,99Euro … over in Germany”, and use it with the built-in SmartMedia slot. “so where is the problem?” :D

See, with the multiple options available to you, “so where is the problem?” :D :D

P.S. Hey, folks: Don’t chastise me for not getting the point of the original question – I’m just having a little fun here … :p

Hi!

Since no-one answered the original question, here it is:

Function, Utility, Media, select the required device, and Property. Shows both total and free memory.

However, I prefer to check it on my PC, because then I can also see other files not recognised by the CVP (such as lyrics in txt files), so you can clean it up much better there.

Yes, that is what I already knew, you can see storage space of your card, but not of the internal flashmemory, this question was not answered yet, and I think, that there is no answer...
