Hello everyone....

I am going to ask a question that I feel there is not going to be an easy answer for... Anyhow, I have a theatre here in GA. We are using our 309gp to score Man Of LA Mancha. It sounds incredible on the piano. However, It sounds like an awful Midi(I know that what the file is) on my computer. I want to create a CD from these midi files. Is there a way to make the midi files sound like they do on the piano without going and recording from the line out? PLEASE HELP>>> Thanks.
Justin

The problem is with your computer's sound card - not the MIDI file. If you consider that your CVP is equivelant to a sound card worth thousands of dollars, and your computer's sound card is probably worth no more than $100, it's no wonder that it sounds crappy. Your best bet is to record your CD from your very expensive CVP using the Line OUT.

Justin,

If you're doing this once, nothing will be quite as good as the CVP itself. BUT, if you're looking for a permanent fix to your crappy soundcard...

I've seen these (and similar models) on eBay for about $100...

You just have to set it up to be the default "MIDI music playback" device on the PC. It WILL blow away your soundcard but it won't sing like the 309GP.

your 300 series has an optical out - purchase a CD recorder from Best Buy, with optical in (about $200) - and you will have great recordings... I do it all the time for quick demos.
