Does anybody use his CVP together with a motif rack?
Is it possible to record the motifsounds into the CVPs sequenzer being played over the CVP together with the CVPs styles?

Hi Andreas,
Certainly! The CVP is designed to drive a collection of external sound modules via MIDI. You can go inside the sequencer of the CVP and assign EXTERNAL voices to be played by an external sound module like the Yamaha Motif Rack over one or more designated MIDI channels.
You can drive a different external sound module over each MIDI channel. You can also layer sounds from different sound modules over the same MIDI channel. The sequencer inside the CVP is very flexible.
I am planning to drive two Motif Racks and a collection of various sound modules by Roland and Korg using the CVP-309 as the main sequencer.
Of course you would need to have a multichannel mixer like a Mackie LM3204 to make it easier to combine all the audio channels from your various sound modules and your CVP and record the stereo mix into a hard disk recorder like an Alesis Masterlink and burn your CD after applying the final mastering tools.
If you want even more flexibility in sequencing power, then you could get a Laptop running Windows XP and install Sonar 4 and use that as your master sequencer to control your CVP as well as your family of sound modules/keyboards.

Thanks Tapas for your reply.
I was looking for the new motif es rack, therefor I posted my question.
In general the CVP has an enormous sound- and stylelibrary and I have changed a multisetting with two keyboards and a sequenzer for the all-in-one instrument CVP307 and I am very happy with it.
The only thing I am missing at the moment are synthsounds you can play with arpeggios or filter modulation. The dancestyles of the CVP have many of those sounds I am looking for, so I will first try them out, look for the OTS and the stylesettings to use them as normalvoices.
Please let us know your experiences with CVP and motifrack and post some of your productions then
Regards
