Does anyone know anything about this program:
http://dksoft.free.fr/mbbxg/main.htm
It sounds really useful for converting or enhancing a SMF to XG and/or XF.
The "catch" is that you need to join a French organization (DEFI) against vivisection (animal cruelty?) in order to download the software. I don't speak French so I can't seem to figure out how much $$$ they want for "membership".

Hi.
Here an excerp from their Web Site:
"Midi Black Box is not a commercial product and is distributed by association D.E.F.I. to support the collective of artists which fights actively agains vivisection, its use is reserved to the members of the association. D.E.F.I. is a French association non-profit-making, law 1908"
The annual membership fee to D.E.F.I. seems to be 35 Euros (approx. $40US).
Paul.
P.S. I'm from Canada, not France, so I've never heard of this group before.

Paul, thanks for the reply.
This is a very interesting way of promoting a cause. I can't say I've ever run across anything like it! I've heard of things like "all profits from such-and-such will go to the non-profit foundation of 'a really good cause'...". But this is more like "join this really good cause with this group of musicians and get access to this very specific midi utility". So if you want this program, and have no interest in saving little kitty-cats, you're out of luck!
I guess the bottom line is: who, in there right mind, would not want to save the kitty-cats?
Anyone wanna be the "guinea pig" and sign-up with DEFI?
(and I'd never do anything to harm a cute little guinea pig!)
