Hello.

This is my first post to the forums of the CVP Users Group. I am from Spain and have just purchased a CVP-307. First of all. I have to recognize that the existence of this forum and this web were very important in my decision of purchasing a CVP-307 instead of a Roland KR-7.

I think that the sound of Piano o the Roland Digitals is really impressive, but, as I have read in the forum, in the Tread “CVP 309 vs Roland KR-7?”, the CVP has a lot of possibilities that you don’t find in Roland. One of them, and not the less important, as I have said, is the existence of webs like this “CVPUG”. When you spend so much money, you want to approach all its possibilities.

The cvp is amazing, and I think I will need several years to learn most of the “hidden” possibilities of this digital piano, but it will be easier with your help.

I have seen in the forums that there are big differences between the prices of the CVP’s in the different countries, and even, in the USA, between the different dealers. It’s not different here in Europe.

The official price for the CVP 307 is 5.799 Euros (7.000 USD), but you can get in most of the dealers with a discount of 20%, more or less. I got my one by 4.600 Euros (6.026 USD), after showing to the dealer the internet prices.

There are several webs where you can buy the CVP’s, and they send them everywhere.
One of them, from Belgium, is www.pianodepot.com. The prices are low, although the shipping costs are really very expensive.

Another web, this one from Spain, is www.musicasa.com
This page is in Spanish, but I think it will be easy if you only want to check prices. (You have to add to the prices in this web a tax of 16%).

As I see in both of them, I think is not very interesting to buy in Europe from USA, and perhaps is better to get a discount from your dealer.

The prices for other models that you can get here by the Internet, taxes included (F.I. http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/mundomusical2/Pianos-digitales%20%20index.htm) are:

CVP-309 6.000 Euros 7.860 US $
CVP-307 4.500 Euros 5.895 US $
CVP-305 3.080 Euros 4.034 US $
CVP-303 2.400 Euros 3.144 US $
CVP-301 2.000 Euros 2.620 US $

Finally, as I have seen Wally ask new members to post a photo of our cvp, I send you this one.

P.S. Sorry if my English is not very good. I’ve been for a lot of time without practicing.

Hi Paco-
Congratulations...and your English is better than mine ;)

You have the 307M with the nice mahogany finish, same as mine. I still haven't heard of anyone buying the cherry finish, though I think it looks nice also. It just doesn't blend as well with most living rooms.

Anyway, what is the warranty situation in Europe? Do you get 5 years from Yamaha? How does one get service if they buy through the mail in Europe?

Also, what options came with your CVP? USB Floppy? bench? 50 Greats on CD and music book, Smart Media Card?

Lastly, there is a 2300+-song Music Finder file available if you like more American-type songs.

Best,

Hi, Steve

Here we have no special warranty in CVP’s. What we get is the general warranty for all products, for two years. During those two years you can claim not only to YAMAHA, but also to the dealer or the shop who sold to me the CVP, even if the failure is due to a original deficiency of the product, and the dealer is the direct responsible of solving the problem or the deficiency.

Do you have a 5 years warranty in CVP’s sold in USA? Or is that the current warranty for every product in USA? I’m really interested in this matter.

If you buy a CVP from USA through the mail or Internet in Europe, I think the problem is if you have a failure during the warranty period, because I think that the European dealer, unless he has a delegation in USA, wouldn’t be forced to repair it if you don’t get it back to him. But I think that you always could claim to YAMAHA everywhere they have a delegation.

About the options that come with the CVP, it comes with a USB floppy disk (that I’m going to replace with a USB Hard Disk with 40 Gigabytes - I suppose it will be enough - ); 50 Greats on CD and Music Book, CD-Rom with USb drivers and other utilities for Windows (Internet direct connection, Digital Music Notebook, MEGA Enhancer, Musicsoft Downloader), and slot for Smart Media Card. (No bench).

Finally, thank you for the suggestion about the USA Music Finder, with 2300 songs. I had download it two weeks ago and it’s much better than the original of 1.850 songs, and with no original song names.

I have also visited the web http://psrtutorial.com/ , where we can find a lot of resources of the users of the Tyros, and PSR 2100 or 3000, that are compatible with the CVP.

Greetings.
